Chappell Hill visit

Lots of stuff going on and I cannot tell you how much these guys have been on my mind … They have been at MDA every day this week and I really do not know how they get through each and every day with everything they have going on!

I wanted to post these photos from my visit with my parents on Sunday… You should see their place in Chappell Hill — it is really country livin’!!!

Chappell Hill Satsuma Tree

One of the many fruit plants that my parents have — this one is a satsuma tree. We used to have these all over in Belle Chasse, which my parents house and ever-growing garden is starting to remind me more and more of!

Chappell Hill Satsuma Tree Closeup

Close up of the satsumas… We used to pick these straight off the tree (after they turned orange, obviously) and eat them right there — very cool when you are a kid — and delicious!!

Chappell Hill Internet

This is how my parents get on the interwebs — that big-a$$ antenna!! Thankfully my dad is enough of a techie to pay the bucks for this through Texas Broadband. I think that their rates are comparable to DSL / Cable Modems, but they did have to shell out the money for the antenna! Pretty cool technology…

Chappell Hill - Nana's garden

“Nana” watering her garden. Actually this is her “potting area” where she takes trimmings off of other plants to make new ones. I’ll take “Things I Have Never Done for $500, Alex.” … I did not exactly inherit my parents green thumb. They have trees planted everywhere, all sorts of landscaping that they are doing themselves, etc. Me? Well, let’s just say that the hanging basket out front isn’t doing so well.

Chappell Hill Wild Tomato Plant

Another plant … this is a while tomato plant that just sprung up somewhere on their property and they moved it next to the hot tub. My mom picked off a tomato and ate it as we passed by! LOL

Carrie and me at Macaroni Grill after I got home that night. Carrie wanted to go somewhere where she could go “bummed out” — and look how cute she is here!! Seriously, what a hottie in some of her new Texas gear! :)

Weekend in Austin

My friend Arnold (through Carrie who went to UT with him) emailed me Friday afternoon to see if I wanted to go to the TCU @ Texas game on Saturday… So, at the late minute, I went on a road trip to Austin with him! Sweet!!! Thank you Arnold!

I called Carrie Saturday morning (I didn’t see the email until late Friday night) to see if she was cool with it (I am not whipped, but I’m not stupid either — do not mess with a woman who has been in school for the last two weekends, plus an entire week before that!!!). She totally wanted me to go, but admitted that she was hella-jealous!

Here are some photos and vids from the weekend…
