Firefox 1.0 and SwitchProxy

Firefox released it’s version 1.0 a few weeks ago and it is superb! Everything has been improved and it runs faster than past versions, in my opinion. The only trouble that I had was that I had to delete my profile because keyword searches were not working correctly for me for some reason. The only way that I could get it to work was to remove my entire profile and create a new one. After doing that I restored by bookmarks and password files and I’m pretty much back in business.

Next step, I installed the Pinball theme as well as several extensions such as the Web Developer toolbar and User Agent Switcher (for those sites that insist on telling me that I need Internet Explorer).

The best extension that I came across was SwitchProxy, which adds a drop-down element that allows you to switch between multiple proxy server settings. This is something that I have been wishing for forever! So, I was extremely glad to find out that someone had created this tool. Now it will be a lot easier to switch between regular net access, Anonymizer proxy, and web development. Thanks to Jeremy Gillick for a great Firefox enhancement!
